Data Recovery

Data recovery is a process of rescuing data from damaged, failed, sabotaged or inaccessible storage media when it cannot be used to access data normally.

Often data is being rescued from storage media’s such as hard disk drive, storage tapes, CDs, DVDs, RAID, and other storage media. This can be due to physical damage to the storage device or logical damage to the file system that prevents it from being accessible by the host operating system or computer BIOS.

Anyone who owns a computer will experience the hardship of data loss. The causes behind data loss may vary, and may include human error, natural disaster, accidental file deletion, sabotage, software and hardware malfunctioning and viruses, along with many other factors which may result in loss of critical data. For many years, the need to recover data that has been lost or destroyed has made data recovery a very valuable asset.

Data Recovery from Hard Drives

Data recovery is possible from almost all type of hard drives. Generally, the drive has failures or inaccessibility due to two prominent reasons

Physical Crash: When drive is making a ticking or a scratching noise due to age or bad parts, the aperture arm in the hard drive can fail, failed motors or the platters can become damaged and lose the data that they hold.

Physical damage could also be due to mishandling of the drive or circuit failure of the PCB board which is attached to the hard drive. Physical damage always causes at least some data loss, and in many cases due to physical damage the logical structures of the file system also may get damaged, all such damages constitute physical crashes of hard drive.

Logical Crash: Far more common than physical damage is logical damage to a file system.

Logical damage is primarily caused by human error which includes accidental deletion of files, accidentally formatting drive and power outages may cause file system structures getting damaged. Causing a variety of problems, system crashes, or an actual loss of data.

Our data recovery technicians and engineers are a highly skilled team of trained and experienced in the latest state-of-the-art data recovery techniques with years of successful recoveries experience behind them. To recover data from all the above mentioned cases we follow a standardized data recovery process.

Data Recovery from Laptops

Laptops have become popular device for personal computing and their usage is growing at a rapid rate because of their portability, which happens to be their main advantage, however laptops are subjected to a lot of various conditions and abuse.

The tough conditions that laptops must function under make laptops more vulnerable to crashes and data loss when compared to desktops, also the amount of data stored on them is mostly critical which means that consequences of data loss on laptops are more devastating when compared to desktops. The data recovery processes for laptops is quite similar to the ones used to desktops.
